Why eye care, and not everything
An eye hospital has workflows a general hospital system structurally cannot hold.
Refraction produces values, not free text. Acceptance has to be distinguished from the machine reading. A glass prescription is a document with its own shape. An implanted lens has a batch and an expiry that must stay attached to the patient for years. An injection is a series, not an event. Adapting a general system to these means bolting registers onto the side of it — which is exactly what most eye hospitals end up doing.
